Evolution of a green smoothie
Mango smoothies is where it all started. Mango-a-go-go from Jamba Juice. The Mango Smoothie was the first healthy recipe I published. And now, the Mango Kale Smoothie: The first green smoothie I make on-the-regular.
Kale is weird, better with mango and blended
In the words of Jim Gaffigan, “kale is weird.” I agree. It is. It’s course, tastes funny and if it’s raw, it’s tough to swallow. I can’t disagree.
And that’s why kale is so perfect in smoothie-form, specifically this Mango Kale Smoothie:
- You don’t taste the kale.
- You get kale’s nutrients broken down for you.
- You get to say you eat kale!
I was on a Mango Kale Smoothie kick this last winter. I was a little under-the-weather and this helped. The Vitamin C, protein and fluids helped get me back on my feet. Check out a quick video of me making this Mango Kale Smoothe in a Vitamix Pro 300.
This smoothie is awesome. It’s my go-to green smoothie. Make one tomorrow morning.
Useful tips for Mango Kale Smoothie
Pretty basic smoothie making procedure here.
If you’re adding flaxseed, turn the blender down while it’s already running (with all of the other ingredients), open the lid plug, and pour in flax seeds. Plug back in and ramp up to high again. Or just add them into your glass after blending. Both make cleaning your blender much easier.
The go-to green smoothie.
