Fall flavor popsicles that deal with your "apple problem".

Ingredients:

  • water - 1.5 cups
  • apples w/skin - 6 whole
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp.
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp.
  • KIDS (optional)
  • sugar (brown, coconut, stevia, etc) - 1/8 cup
  • ADULTS (optional)
  • alcohol (burbon, caramel vodka, etc) - 1/2 oz per popsicle

Instructions:

PREP

  1. Wash your apples
  2. Core your apples (leave the skin)

BLEND

  1. Add water, apples, and spices to your Vitamix container
  2. If you have preprogrammed settings, use the ‘Soup’ setting
    – if not ramp from variable speed 1 to high and blend for 5 minutes
    – you want the mixture to get hot so the sugars break down

PREPARE

  1. Take a sip. Good, yeah?
  2. If you’re adding booze, measure 1/2 oz per popsicle and stir before pouring
  3. Place in popsicle molds (or ice cube trays) and freeze overnight
    – these take longer to freeze than basic liquid popsicles
  4. This recipe makes a TON, save the leftovers and drink straight

ENJOY

  1. Pop out of molds (can keep in freezer for several months)
  2. Snap a pic and tag #lifeisNOYOKE
  3. Enjoy!

Useful tips for Apple Cider Pops

Get cute with it. Add cinnamon chips, or caramel sauce, or pecans.

We used organic gala apples, but any apple variety will do.

If you're serving these to kids, you might want to add the optional sugar. They are delicious without it, but might be too sour for kids' pallets.

If you're serving these to adults, consider adding booze (in this case, skip the sugar). We used bourbon in some and caramel vodka in others. So good!
