  • Best-in-class.
  • A great investment
  • Backed by industry-best warranties.

Both brands have loyal followings.  You will be in good company however you choose. Just find the blender that’s best for you.

Good news, five steps and up to you

Searching for Vitamix vs Blendtec, is good news for you. It means you’re ready to commit to health and wealth. Just reading this means you’re already 20% of the way there. How? From my experience, getting a high-end blender takes five steps:

  1. Search Vitamix vs Blendtec.
  2. Do your due diligence.
  3. Sleep on it.
  4. Place your order.
  5. Figure out which green smoothie you make first.

I’ll take you through step #2. The rest is up to you.

Notes

I am a Vitamix guy. Always have been. Always will be. They are simply superior to Blendtec. Lenny Gale with two Vitamix containers in front of Chicago view But I’m cool with Blendtecs. They are solid products from a solid company. I, however, am not cool with Ninja blenders. They’re:

  • Crappy.
  • Dangerous.
  • Wastes of money.

So if you ask me about high-end blenders, I’ll help you decide Vitamix vs Blendtec. Either way you go, both are a smart investment in your health and wealth.

Overview

The question of Vitamix vs Blendtec comes up a lot. They’re kind of like Coke and Pepsi. Except, these competitors’ products won’t kill you! Cold weather snowy day common among Vitamix and Blendtec Let’s discuss company history. Both Vitamix and Blendtec come from cold-weather states. And, both are privately held, US-based companies. Vitamix is a 4th generation family business based out of Cleveland, Ohio. They’ve been selling blenders since 1921. The story of Papa Bernard and his first infomercial set the tone for the business. Recently, they’ve become popular in the news with articles like this from Bloomberg. Blendtec is a privately held business based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. They began in 1975. Tom Watkins started the company made it popular with his “Will it blend?” videos. Both companies offer terrific warranties. Most are for 7 years and cover normal wear and tear plus include free two-way shipping. Cool.

Cost

$50 bill showing cost difference between Vitamix vs Blendtec-1 A big factor for people when choosing Vitamix vs Blendtec is the cost. The difference in cost is material, but not significant. Usually, a Blendtec will cost $50 less than a comparable Vitamix. Yep, that’s it. Fifty bucks. Both come with 7-year warranties, though. Fifty dollars spread out over seven years is just pennies. So, not sure I’d use cost to determine my decision of Vitamix vs Blendtec.

Quality

Both companies stand by the quality of their products. Looking at the warranties alone won’t help answer the question of Vitamix vs Blendtec. They’re both good for seven years. So which is a better product? Well, I could give you 100 reasons for one. And then a 100 reasons for the other. But I won’t. In all my testing, I’ve found Vitamix is higher quality. Vitamix Pro 750 up close vitamix vs blendtec Watch ’em run. Listen to them work. Feel the two side-by-side. There’s no question Vitamix is better quality. Do you own any Apple products? It’s hard to explain why they’re so great, right? It’s the same with Vitamix. That doesn’t mean Blendtecs are bad. Millions of people buy non-Apple products and are perfectly happy. Heck, I’ve seen my girl Ree Drummond of Pioneer Woman use her Blendtec and she’s happy as a lark.

Design

Choosing Vitamix vs Blendtec based on design requires some experience. And you need some gut instinct. Vitamix vs Blendtec containers My experience favors Vitamix designs. I like the manual controls. I like the hard rubber landing pad. And I like the feel of the container & lid. I just really like the way they’re designed. I have tested several Blendtecs. And they’re fine. But I cannot think of a piece that’s designed better than a comparable Vitamix. To be fair, Blendtec invests a ton into their R&D. So it’s not like their products are poorly designed. I just like Vitamix better.
