Vitamix Usage Report – January 2017

February 10, 2017 by: Lenny Gale

Wondering how much we actually use our Vitamix? Us, too!

Here’s this month’s Vitamix Usage Reports from the headquarters of Life is NOYOKE (our apartment).

But first, let’s assess our Vitamix usage at a high level.

January 2017 Recap

January was a transition month for us.

Between wrapping up Spain travels and setting up shop in Honolulu, we were basically away from our Vitamix for the first two weeks of January.

But a few Vitamix moments that stand out.

First one: The first smoothie (protein shake) in the states after eating bread, wine, and falafel for two weeks straight was oh-so good.

Second one: I lost my smoothie bowl virginity. Why did I poo poo these? They’re like ice cream with toppings! And once they melt a bit, they’re like cereal. So good. Here’s that first one from a little shop, Jewel or Juice, on Waialae Ave.

Haven't gotten our Vitamix set up yet so we were forced to purchase this delicious smoothie bowl. For the record, it was $12. If you bought a Reconditioned Vitamix 5200 and made just two smoothie bowls a MONTH, you will have justified its cost in less than a year!

Third one: Getting into the swing of things (again) is so nice. Here’s me with a Carolyne’s Green Smoothie on the roof (overlooking Diamond Head).

We did a simple analysis (back of napkin) ranking the types of images on our @lifeisnoyoke feed people like the best. Pictures of Lenny ranked second to last. So hi from Honolulu via my personal account. Miss you. #lifeisnoyoke

So as you’ll see below with the usage totals and timing, it was a light Vitamix month. But we made a few really awesome, new recipes.

New recipes

In addition to the regular rotation of things we make in our vitamix, here are the new recipes we created and posted here.

(Click any thumbnail to go to the recipe.)

(Fancy) Tomato Soup

Vitamix tomato soup with sun-dried tomatoes and thyme as garnish.

Pina Colada

Pina colada smoothie with green straw.

Hawaiian Salsa

Life is NOYOKE's Hawaiian salsa held up in small container.

Looks pretty good, eh? Okay, let’s talk total usage.

Vitamix Usage

All of the following were made in our Vitamix, a A3500.

Note 1: Obviously, our lifestyle is extremely conducive to heavy use. Work from home, make a living as Vitamix affiliates. But full transparency is the goal here. What do we actually do with our Vitamix?

Note 2: I realize some of these items have an ordered list that begins with “1” but stops there. No “2” or “3” or so on. Well, until I figure out a better way to deliver this information, we’re just going to have to live with ordered lists that end at 1. And yes, I tried unordered list format (bullet points), but that makes it more difficult to tally everything up and a single bullet point is almost just as bad a single item in an ordered list. Okay, moving on.
