1. New blog posts, site updates, and other things we’re proud to be sharing

Good morning from Minneapolis!

A few incredible new things to make this week. But first, another quick little vid for ya: Yes, I used to love eggs.

2. New recipes we’re enjoying

Cashew cream cheese (plus vegan lox!). It tasted as good as it looked. Nothing like what it really is. Thrilled to have this killer combo back in our lives.

+ Peach Buzz Sorbet. Peaches and champagne. Get after it.

3. Classic recipes we’re re-showcasing

Louisiana gumbo. Totally revamped. Paula Dean would be proud. (Or the opposite? This recipe is butter and cruelty free.)

4. Vitamix news and updates we’re enjoying

The 48-ounce (1.4L) Ascent containers, are finally available. They’re narrow-bodied and unlike the 8 and 20 oz containers, the 48’s have a removable lid plug and tamper for traditional, yet smaller-batch tasks. We’re really excited about these! We have both the wet and dry versions on the way. But if you’re going with just one, we recommend the wet. (Note: Being without a smaller, secondary, narrow-bodied container for our Ascent is the only reason we’ve kept our Legacy Pro 750 around. We had a 32 oz container for it, which served the same purpose as a 48; smaller batches of nut butters, ice creams, etc. Below may be one of the last times we use the good ‘ol 32, a size they’re not making for the Ascent.)

5. Articles, posts, and products from around the web we’re thinking about

I’ve received grief about this in the past. But whenever possible, I prefer to use (and drink, obviously) filtered water. It tastes better! Maybe this is why: Plastic fibres found in tap water around the world, study reveals.
