This mango smoothie might be perfect

Last Updated January 30, 2018
Mango smoothie with orange straw.

It’s sweet. It’s simple. It’s easy to make.

And the consistency is thick but not too thick.

It’s gorgeous. And most importantly, it’s delicious.

Whether it will be your first or your thousandth, you should go make this mango smoothie. Simple perfection at its finest.

Here’s the story behind this smoothie (followed by the simple recipe).

This mango smoothie was where it all began

“You’ve never been to Jamba Juice? Okay, get the Mango-a-go-go. It’s the best.”

There it was. Sometime around the turn of the millennium my first fruit smoothie.

It was probably also my first Vitamix smoothie since Vitamix had the account back then.

That mango smoothie was so good, I never ordered anything else. And I got Jamba Juice as often as I could!

So it was my first smoothie as a consumer. But also…

Mango was the first smoothie here, on Life is NOYOKE

Why wouldn’t it be? Mango smoothies are the best.

  • The color.
  • The flavor.
  • The consistency. (There’s a reason our #1 green smoothie, Carolyne’s, features frozen mango.)

It fits, too, that the original featured image (below) for this mango smoothie is one of my all-time favorites.

Mango smoothie on brown desk with green plant in background.

(Curious why I love this image so much? I think it’s the color and composition. And it was my first “real” picture; one that I took with a DSLR and not on a point-and-shoot with flash.)

But it was time for a reboot. An updated recipe and photo shoot.

Beginning again (or for the first time) with this mango smoothie

There’s the idea of “beginning again” that people use while practicing mindfulness. It’s okay to go elsewhere.

But you always keep coming back. Beginning again.

It’s true for us with this mango smoothie.

And it should be true for you.

It’s great for beginners and newbies. Also great for veteran smoothie makers.

For guys…

And for gals….

This mango smoothie is a great place to begin (or begin again).

Go make yourself a batch of this mango smoothie.

Useful tips for Mango Smoothie

If you’re just starting your smoothie journey, begin with this smoothie and then start adding in more nutritious things. Seeds, nuts, veggies. The base is really flavorful and sweet, so you shouldn’t be able to taste most of your additions.

We suggest flax or chia seeds, almonds or cashews and spinach. Yum!

This is a great smoothie for picky eaters and kids. Tastes kind of like a glass of orange juice and has a really creamy consistency.

If you’re banana-averse, try with frozen squash instead!

Thank you. I always liked my Vitamix, but since I found Life is NOYOKE, it has become the only appliance that sits on my counter all the time. It gets used at least once everyday and I’ve given away my blender, ninja and my food processor. I’m almost a minimalist! Lol!
