Asian-Inspired Hummus for your Vitamix

Every grocery store in Hawaii has half American food and half Asian food.

It’s been a really fun experience to have access to so many different items.

We’ve been experimenting a little and came up with this awesome hummus!

You can find the ingredients in any grocery store and it takes less than 5 minutes.

Whip some of this edamame hummus up next time you’re in charge of appetizers. It’s a crowd pleaser!

Kiss Me I'm... Asian?

It’s St. Patrick’s Day this weekend and we are missing Chicago! Nothing is more fun than the parades, the green river and of course the green beers!

But since we’ll be missing it this year, we decided green food will have to suffice.

We easily made this edamame hummus in our Vitamix. And although it doesn’t scream green and there’s no corn beef in sight, we still think it counts.

Make this edamame hummus for your kegs and eggs party. Then, stick a sign in it that says “Kiss Me I’m Asian.” (You’ll be the party hero.)

Edamame Hummus

• Yield: 3 cups (738g)
• You're needed for: 2 minutes
• Until it's done: 5 minutes

Vegan, gluten-free appetizer that will please the crowd.

Ingredients:

• edamame (shelled) - 1.5 cups
• chickpeas (drained into bowl) - 2 15 oz cans
• aquafaba (chickpea water) - 3 Tbsp.
• garlic - 2 cloves
• olive oil - 4 Tbsp.
• miso - 1 Tbsp.
• sesame oil - 1 tsp.
• salt - 1.5 tsp.

Instructions:

1. Add all ingredients into container in order listed
2. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until smooth
3. Scoop into bowl and serve with veggies/pita chips
4. Snap a pic and tag #lifeisNOYOKE
5. Enjoy!

Useful tips for Edamame Hummus

Reserve the liquid that comes in the chickpea can. It’s called aquafaba and it’s magical. Not only are we going to use it for this recipe, you can use it for tons more! It’s high in protein and a great substitute for egg whites. Use what’s left to make our Vegan French Toast.

Use the tamper to gently push the ingredients from the corners into the blade.
