This tangy, creamy, and vegan sour cream is fabulous

We’ve used some simple ingredients to create a vegan sour cream.
By utilizing our Vitamix, we get a consistent texture that’s creamy like the real thing!

You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone
There’s certain things you don’t know you love until they are gone. This is a pretty common pop-song theme, so you should be familiar.
Sour cream is not one of my favorite foods, but it tops a lot of em! Baked potato, latkes, nachos (tons of other things in our Vitamix Recipe Index too)!
I didn’t know it was something I’d miss when we veganized our kitchen. But I did.
Especially when we were doing photo shoots for our Vitamix Soups. All I wanted was a dollop of sour cream.
So we made some. And it’s legit.
If you’ve just had some dairy sour cream and then try this, it won’t be the same. But if you haven’t had it in several weeks, or years (like Lenny), this is an absolute gem. He used it on every meal until it was gone.
Go blend up some sour cream. Your vegan friends will be stoked!
Recipe
Vegan sour cream
Creamy, tangy and vegan sour cream.
Apple Cider Vinegar, Lemon, Tofu,Ingredients:
- tofu - 1/2 pack (210 g)
- apple cider vinegar - 1 Tbsp. (15 mL)
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp. (30 mL)
- salt - 3/4 tsp. (4.5 g)
- olive oil - 1 Tbsp. (15 mL)
Instructions:
BLEND
- Add all ingredients into your Vitamix container
- Blend on high for 1 minute
- Refrigerate for 60 min before serving (if possible)
- Top your favorite foods
- Snap a pic and tag #lifeisNOYOKE
- Enjoy!

Do you need to press the liquid out of the Tofu first?

I’d do a quick drain, no pull press necessary.
Great recipe, didn’t change anything. My wife was missing sour cream too an thi came out perfect.

Is that a package of Mori-Nu Tofu in the recipe?
We’ve used several brands, it really just needs to be any kind of firm tofu.
