An Invigorating, Simple Green Juice Recipe for your Vitamix
“It tastes like apple juice. You can’t taste the kale at all.”
That’s what my fiancé said when the cameras stopped rolling for the Nutribullet vs. Vitamix video post.
What she didn’t mention, however, is how amazingly refreshing and light it was.
Here’s why:
How The Refresher Got Its Name
I’ve mastered egg white smoothies. And while those are incredible, this apple carrot kale juice is going to start my exploration to the wonderful world of whole food juices.
A refreshing discovery of what else my Vitamix can do with apples, carrots, and kale.
Hence, The Refresher.
It’s an apple carrot kale juice and it is:
- Energizing like coffee.
- Tasty like apple juice.
- Loaded with vitamins, nutrients and immune system enhancing properties.
You can make it with any blender, really. But the results (taste, color, texture) are certainly different depending on your machine. Here’s me trying it in a Nutribullet vs. Vitamix YouTube video (minute 5:25).

When I first read this, I thought you meant to throw the entire half lime in the Vitamix. You could def do that, too, if you’re looking for a bitter bite.
But, the way you describe is absolutely the way I do it, too. I don’t even know how you would measure juice from half a lime?

Can’t you just throw the half lime in there? Me being me, why waste time getting juice from half a lime when I can just cut it it half, peel it, remove the seeds and toss it in the Vitamix?
Used to do this with my Nutribullet whenever a recipe called for lime/lemon juice (until it finally bit the bullet).
