Hi!

Either way, we’d love to hear (and possibly feature) yours.

Much love,

1. Fancy Wedding Cake Smoothie
Throwing it back to two years ago today. It was a week before our wedding and we shared this special smoothie recipe featuring lavender and pistachios (just like our cake)!

2. Dinners after dark
It was one of those weeks. We did not have our studio lights up. (This was curried cauliflower with quinoa, a recipe from Oh My Veggies, we added kale).
And dinner was late. (This, zucchini noodles etc. with our famous Thai Peanut Sauce.)
But we also made Grandma’s pickles! It’s not too late if you haven’t yet.
Related: Watch the video of us making pickles from last year.
3. Popular on Our Instagram This Week
Here’s a post from Shalva that’s getting a lot of engagement.

“Yesterday Lenny told me he doesn’t think it’s cool when I post a pic on Instagram saying “this is what we ate today” when it was really something we ate last week. I told him I don’t think anyone cares at all… But here is the dinner we ate LAST night at exactly 8:42pm CST. It was cauliflower chickpea curry served over quinoa. We are eating something entirely different at this exact moment ?

5. Articles, links, and other goodness we’re appreciating
Someone asked us recently how we’re handling our baby’s diet. “Question, will you guys be strict with your baby when he grows up about eating habits? What if he goes to a friends house and eats bacon and loves it, would that be ok? Just curious”
We’ll do a longer post about it. But here’s the short answer: Our plan is to let him explore outside of the house without judgement. He will know why we do what we do in our house and hopefully that guides him a bit. Thinking is that the kids that were told they had to keep kosher or had to be a good Catholic or were forbidden from alcohol seemed to stray the furthest away from home. And we want him to make a decision that feels right and isn’t just rebellious.
Here he is, now 9-months old.

Thanks again,

Great answer regarding your son’s eating.
When our kids were 7 and 5 y.o. we explained where meat comes from and why we don’t eat it. We said we would not cook it but if they are at a friend’s it is their choice. They did not experiment with meat growing up that I know of but I believe they did have a some alcohol in their teens. One hard, fast rule was no getting in a car with someone who is drinking and driving. Call, we will get you no questions asked.
They are in their 40s and still vegetarian, with one nearly vegan. This approach made the teen years easy…no reason to be rebellious, not our decision but theirs.
