Good afternoon from snowy Minneapolis!
Hope you had a nice week. 🙂
Here’s what’s new, exciting, and thought-provoking from the Life is NOYOKE world.
1. Recipes we made this week
A Carolyne’s smoothie bowl that, while delicious, broke the sprinkle rule.
A Blubarb smoothie bowl that had me saying, “Wow, what’s in this one?”
And we made a fool out of our son. (This outfit was originally Shalva’s brother’s who is now 17 years old.)
2. Two blog posts in case you missed them
Two really helpful articles you may have missed last week.
First, about making our new favorite thing ever: Smoothie bowls
Read: Smoothie Bowls: The Ultimate Guide
And second, all about making nut butters with your Vitamix.

3. New YouTube video we’re enjoying
At 37 weeks pregnant, we visited our friends at Vitamix HQ. Here’s one of the things we made.
Watch: CRANBERRY RELISH SAUCE – Vitamix Recipe (from Culinary Exploration Center in Solon, Ohio)
Here are a few highlights from the video above:

4. Vitamix Deals (for those considering)
The following are deals on Vitamix models featured on our model comparison page.
Here’s a 30-second, up-close look at this model
Notes: Like all the A3500’s with True Metal Finishes, this is one of the least loud Vitamix machines you can buy. Copper metal is certainly not for every kitchen. But for modern, industrial, or kitchens that already have a copper appliance, this can be a nice addition.
Compare: The A3500 True Metal Finish Options
Notes: This model is a Vitamix fan favorite. It’s the one we’ve gifted to family several times. Step up your smoothie game for under $300 bucks.

5. Links, useful tips, and news we’re thinking about
Just eat!
Back in the day, our site had nutrition facts on it. And despite protest and constant requests for their return, you will not find nutrition facts here on lifeisnoyoke.com. Why? Because counting calories is not what we do around here. It’s neither worth your time nor ours. And now, a new study has our back! “…people who cut back on added sugar, refined grains and highly processed foods while concentrating on eating plenty of vegetables and whole foods — without worrying about counting calories or limiting portion sizes — lost significant amounts of weight over the course of a year.” Incredible. From the American Medical Association: The Key to Weight Loss Is Diet Quality, Not Quantity, a New Study Finds
Meat sobriety?
My father, the steak and potatoes guy with “messed up taste buds”, informed me he hasn’t eaten red meat in five months. Incredible. Seems like a good time to revisit a quick video I made about the report from the World Health Organization: 3 things to remember about the recent WHO report.
(Note: If you’re impatient but curious, this video starts to get really good at 3:18.)
Tap the magnifying glass!
Looking for a particular recipe from your phone? Use the search function!
Look for the (apparently insufficiently sized) magnifying glass at the top right. Tap it.
Then, type what you’re wanting to find.
If you want to find banana bread, you can type “banana bread.” Or “banana.” Or just “bread.”
No clue what you’re wanting to make? We have a solution for that, one which we just revamped: Our Recipe Index!
Browse: Our Recipe Index
Note: Thanks to Shalva’s mom for suggesting this helpful (or blatantly obvious) tip!
