Hi! Here’s what’s new, exciting, and thought provoking from our Life is NOYOKE world.
This is the online version of our weekly email newsletter, 5 Good Things. To get it delivered to your inbox on Saturdays, you can subscribe right here.
1. New recipe posts we’re drooling over
Tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday. Yay! So today, we’re sharing two, freshly-posted, fabulous things to make and bring to your watch party.
Here’s the first one: this artichoke dip. We’ve been making this recipe for over a year now. We weren’t intentionally keeping it from you. But here at Life is NOYOKE we like to make original recipes (like these). This dip though? This one isn’t ours. But, we have made some pretty awesome upgrades. For a homemade dip it’s pretty dang easy and the payoff is worth the effort. Go make this hot, “cheesy”, gooey, bubbly dip for your family.
+ When it comes to party foods, simple, grabbable, savory dips usually win the night. Here’s a brand new French Onion Dip that won’t last long when served with some ruffle chips. Easy and delicious. Make a batch today!
+ Here’s a list of 6 more apps to bring to your Super Bowl Party. Enjoy.
2. Classic recipe we’re re-showcasing
Staying with the bring-this-to-your-Super-Bowl-party theme, here’s our famous cashew queso dip. Make it for that “wow” reaction.
+ In 2012, this 5-alarm chili won a chili cook-off among a dozen or so other entrants. Another good bring to your party this weekend. (This recipe was originally posted before veganizing the site. It won the chili contest with ground turkey, but since the meat is not what made it a prize winner, I’m sharing it. (The cinnamon and beer are the secret ingredients.) Try it with vegan meat crumbles or without.
+ Friendly reminder: Use #lifeisnoyoke to share your food and drinks with us. Great way to get lots of immediate love for your work.
3. New blog posts, site updates, and other things we’re proud to be sharing
Each month, we set aside a handful of hours to work with our developers on improving the Life is NOYOKE site.
The hours are “use-them-or-lose-them.” And that’s by choice.
Every month, this challenges us to find ways to make the site better. Instead of just having our developers fix things that break.
- Make the Recipe Index load faster.
- Build a Vitamix model comparison tool for you to shop with.
- Put a search icon at the top of pages so there’s less scrolling to get what you need.
You know, things to make the experience on the website better for you (especially from your mobile device).
Why am I telling you this?
Call it what you want to call it. I am proud of our work and wanted to share that with you. Thanks. 🙂
+ Oh yeah, our Instagram account got its 4,000th follower. Join us for a peek behind-the-scenes!
4. Vitamix news and updates we’re enjoying
This is exciting, guys. Limited time, really cool offer from vitamix.com. Now through February, get a free month of smoothie box delivery when you purchase (nearly) any new Vitamix. Smoothie supplies (plus a reusable nut milk filtration bag that’s a gift you can keep) delivered by Green Blender smoothie box subscription service. Here’s a link to the offer. And here’s a run down of why we think this is pretty great.
+ And as always, new Vitamix owners get the Starter Kit items from us right away.
+ One last time: Check this out if you need something to add to your podcast queue: The Magical Vitamix Experience with Lenny Gale and Ashley James. (A fun conversation about how our Vitamix machines changed our lives.)
Life is NOYOKE is our vegan Vitamix recipes, basically. When you use links from our site to vitamix.com or vitamix.ca and enter our promotion code 06-007938, we get credit for purchases and earn a small commission. That helps support our mission of accelerating worldwide adoption of a plant-based diet and is greatly appreciated. Thank you. — Shalva and Lenny Gale
5. Articles, posts, and products from around the web we’re thinking about
This island is banning all junk food. (Sounds like a lonely island.)
The Awareness. A novel about a time when all animals gain universal consciousness and rise up against humankind.
Our Electric Kettle: We left it behind at our place in Chicago and miss it greatly.
Okay, all for now.
Thanks and good things,
