Good morning from “remember when we lived here for over a decade?” Chicago!
Hope you had a nice week. 🙂
Here’s what’s new, exciting, and thought-provoking from the Life is NOYOKE world.
1. New YouTube video we published
Vitamix Banana Bread video demo (recipe) with the (now four-months-old) baby boy. Another one of the “Blending Buddies” series of kids videos for toddlers.

2. Recipes we used this week
We are in Chicago this weekend, so it was a short week at home. But in the few days we were there, we ate darn well.
Everyday Green juice featuring ginger and lemon (pictured seasonally with some spring tulips)!
The before…
And after…
+ Taco salad with our ranch dressing. (Those are Gardein crumbles if you were wondering.)
+ Lettuce wraps because they’re quick and easy. (Note: I resisted temptation to plate the lettuce like a 4-leaf clover in celebration of St. Patty’s Day.)
+ Beet salad with a (sadly) non-emulsified (unblended and thus not creamy) easy balsamic vinaigrette. Baby finally went down and we didn’t want to wake him up with the blender.
+ Falafel made by a sabra featuring our tahini dressing.
3. “Green Blender” smoothies we made
Green Blender sent us a smoothie ingredient box to try. We said if it was worth recommending, we would.
We’re pretty sure it’s not for people like us (Shalva and I). We already know what we like, and are settled in our home.
But, in an upcoming write-up, we’ll explain for whom it is. Spoiler: It can make a great gift for the right individual.
Until then, here’s a couple of the things we made:
Aloe pear; sweet and pretty. Most similar to our Carolyne’s Green.
Carrot, goji berry, pineapple; refreshing and bright. Similar idea to our invigorating citrus carrot juice.
SUPPORT = 💚

4. Vitamix News & Deals (for those considering)
The following information on Vitamix models is also featured on our model comparison page. All of them come with free shipping via our links to buy direct.
Here’s a 30-second, up-close look at this model
Notes: Like all the A3500’s with True Metal Finishes, this is one of the least loud Vitamix machines you can buy. Copper metal is certainly not for every kitchen. But for modern, industrial, or kitchens that already have a copper appliance, this can be a nice addition.

Recommendation: This is a nice opportunity to pickup a secondary container.

5. Links, useful tips, and news we’re thinking about
“Green Blender” Smoothie Ingredient Delivery Service
Per above, we’ve been thinking about Green Blender a lot this week as we prepare our recommendation. If you want to weigh-in with us, here’s $10 off your first order with code GBSAVE10.
The Green Hook
Mentioned this a few weeks back, but want to mention it again. As we pulled into my sister’s house after an 8 hour drive, I immediately asked for her Green Hook (AKA The Thera Cane Massager). If you don’t have one of these yet, it’s a must. It’s like a deep-tissue masseuse that can live under your couch.
The Green River
If you haven’t seen what they do to the Chicago River on St. Patty’s Day Saturday, you should check it out this two minute video: Dying the River Green. (Interestingly, and fittingly, the green dye is 100% plant-based!)
