Hi! Here’s what’s new, exciting, and thought provoking from our Life is NOYOKE world.
This is the online version of our weekly email newsletter, 5 Good Things. To get it delivered to your inbox on Saturdays, you can subscribe right here.
1. New recipe posts we’re drooling over
Who doesn’t get excited about delicious, homemade soups?
But you want hassle-free, right? No extra cooking.
Well, this tomato soup is just that. Great on its own or next to a sexy sandwich.
+ Nothing about Hawaii is traditional. This Hawaiian salsa notwithstanding. It’s missing several salsa staples: No lime. No cilantro. No distinct red or green hue. And still, it’s fabulous. It’s tropical salsa with a kick. Make some!
2. Classic recipe we’re re-showcasing
Instead of hand-picking recipes from our archives, let’s highlight ones actually being made by you.
Here’s a good-looking loaf of chocolate chip banana bread (from Madeline via her Instagram).
+ Here’s a great pic of a New Noyoke Shake (from Leena via her Instagram).
+ Here’s a bowl of Creamy Wild Rice Soup (from Amanda via her Instagram).
Oh yeah, since the Super Bowl is next weekend, I have to mention on my favorite vegan Vitamix recipes:
Cashew Queso! Be a hero at your Super Bowl Party.
Share your noyoke food and drinks with us by using #lifeisnoyoke or emailing the LINY Email Operator: leo at lifeisnoyoke.com.
3. New blog posts, site updates, and other things we’re proud to be sharing
Life is NOYOKE is a tiny operation. Shalva (#wifeisnoyoke), Lucille (the wonder dog), and myself.
We spend our time creating things for you.
We spend zero time promoting the things we create.
Can you help us?
We need you to share this link to 5 Good Things on Facebook. Do not “like it” because that doesn’t help. Share it, because that does. Click the button at the bottom that says “Share.” Thanks, we appreciate it.
4. Vitamix news and updates we’re enjoying
Ever wonder how much we actually use our Vitamix? So do we. Here’s a Vitamix Usage Report for December 2016*.
+ ICYMI: I was a guest on a podcast! The Magical Vitamix Experience with Lenny Gale and Ashley James. (A conversation about how we first got into the Vitamix cult.)
SUPPORT = 💚
Life is NOYOKE takes us hundreds of hours every month to create and maintain.
If you appreciate what we do, please consider supporting our work by using our referral links to make purchases. It’s free for you and every bit helps.
5. Articles, posts, and products from around the web we’re thinking about
The new US President replaced his predecessor’s White House snacks (almonds and apples) with, among other things, Lay’s potato chips. Garbage in, garbage out?
+ I’ve long been critical of Dr. Oz for his pandering of supplements and snake oil. (Related, still one of my favorite posts here: 12 Things Dr. Oz Unknowingly Taught Me.) But this recent segment from his show, “Beginners Guide to Going Vegan”, is redeeming.
+ Study says that nearly a third of US children consume two sugary drinks per day. Can’t decide if this is surprisingly low or high.
+ Let’s end on a high note. Umm. How about this: What foods would be available if Tom Brady were hosting a Super Bowl Party. (This is completely hypothetical, though, since the jerk is seemingly always busy that day.)
Okay, all for now and thanks for reading.
Good things,
Lenny
