Fall Recipes, Fan Faves, Kosher for the 21st Century, and More!
Hi! Here’s what’s new, exciting, and thought provoking from our Life is NOYOKE world.
(This is the abbreviated online version of our weekly email newsletter, 5 Good Things. To get the full version delivered to your inbox on Saturdays, you can subscribe right here.)
1. New blog posts, site updates, and other things we’re proud to be sharing
Good morning from synagogue!
Just kidding. No mobile phones allowed in the sanctuary. (And we schedule these posts / emails earlier in the week to avoid working on Saturdays.)
If, by chance you are observing Yom Kippur and are hosting a break-the-fast, you might want to consider our delicious cashew cream cheese. Your vegan loved ones (and mama cows) would surely appreciate the gesture! 🙂
We worked our tuchus’ off this week on Life is NOYOKE, but outside the kitchen. So today, we’re featuring some of our best fall recipes and a few others of ours made by friends.
2. Classic recipes we’re re-showcasing
Apple Cinnamon Walnut Butter. This one packs a punch. Rich flavor, great with coffee.
+ Coffee Ice Cream. As good as it looks. Worth the tiny bit of effort. Made it to celebrate National Coffee Day on Friday.
+ Vegan Cornbread. Make your own cornmeal with popcorn kernels and throw these babies together in a flash. Perfect side for soup season.
3. Friends sharing our best recipes (because people love us! They really love us!)
(Quick note: Follow these people and visit their sites! Also, if you’d like to be featured here, tag #lifeisnoyoke to your public Instagram posts.)
4. Vitamix deals, news, and updates we’re enjoying
+ ?? USA shoppers: Few really good deals for right now on CR Vitamix Models:
+ ?? Canada shoppers: $50 off S-Series starting 10/1

5. Articles, posts, and products from around the web we’re thinking about
The decision to make our kitchen vegan has always been familiar. The way some of our peers’ families did it with a kosher kitchen. This is how our house is going to be, whatever happens outside of the house will be accepted without judgement. As such, we loved this article so much. So much that I’m putting a full quote from it just in case you don’t click to read the whole thing. “The rabbis call on their ‘fellow Jews to transition toward animal-free, plant-based diets. This approach to sustenance is an expression of our shared Jewish values of compassion for animals, protection of the environment, and concern for our physical and spiritual well-being.’” Baruch hashem: Rabbis Urge Jews To Go Vegan In Global Campaign
Okay, all for now.
Thanks and good things,
Shalva and Lenny
